Fun Dallas Tours Locals Love

Tours aren't just for tourists. Locals can enjoy learning all about Dallas and visiting its hot spots. Food tours and brewery tours are just the beginning. See what else is in store when you try these great tours of Dallas.

Chocolate Tours for Valentine's Day?

Sounds like a great idea! Discover delicious chocolate and fabulous Dallas restaurants on a Dallas by Chocolate tour.

Dallas Brewery Tours

There are over a dozen breweries in Dallas and many of them offer free tours of their brewing operations. I used a listing on to find a few for you. Check out their list of North Texas breweries to find links to the best beer in Dallas

Texas Ale Project, in the Design District, offers free behind-the-scenes tours every Saturday at 2 PM, first come, first served.

Four Corners Brewing, in The Cedars neighborhood also offers free guided tours at 2PM on Saturdays.

Community Beer Company, also in the Design District, offers their tours (you guessed it!) at 2PM on Saturdays. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and include 3 drink tickets.

Deep Ellum Brewing offers tours at 1PM and 2PM on Saturdays. Tickets are $15 and include 3 beers and live music after the tour.

Texas Beer Tours offers small group walking tours of four Design District breweries or four Deep Ellum Breweries. Once you’ve seen all the Dallas breweries you might want to take their Southside Fort Worth Brewery Tour too.

Bike Tours in Dallas

The 6-Pack Trail offers tours on a 10-mile bike ride with 6 stops plus dinner and 6 beers along the way. Tours operate two Saturdays a month March through October, so look for new tour dates coming soon.

Pedego Electric Bikes offers 3-hour ebike tours between Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts with stops for tacos. If you don't get to these Dallas neighborhoods often enough, this tour sounds like the way to go. They had me at tacos!

Dallas Food Tours

Dallas has some great food tours, and Dallas by Chocolate is one of my favorites. Actually Dallas by Chocolate is the company and they offer (way) more than just one tour. Sure, they have chocolate tours, but they also have tours for Dallas speakeasies, beer and bbq, Dallas’s best pizza, and of course, tacos and margaritas.

These tours are a great way to discover top Dallas restaurants and some hidden gems as well. During the holidays they have Christmas lights tours and as you might expect, Valentine's Day tours are very special.

Dallas Home Tours

Every spring and fall, neighborhoods in Dallas get to show off their loveliest homes in some great annual home tours. From the historic homes of Munger Place and Oak Cliff to the modern beauties near White Rock Lake and on the all-city American Institute of Architects (AIA) tour, the homes on these Dallas tours are sure to surprise and delight you.

The Swiss Avenue Historic District's annual home tour is on Mother's Day Weekend each year. They also offer tours of the historic Aldredge House on the first Saturday of every month. Make plans to attend one of these tours, or check out the website for this delightful historic neighborhood. You can make your own tour by simply driving through the neighborhood.

Dallas History Tours

Remembering Black Dallas, Inc. offers tours that teach you all about Freedmen’s Towns, the Civil Rights Movement, and African American culture throughout various areas of Dallas.

The Soul of Dallas Bus Tour combines historical African American landmarks with stops at Black owned restaurants for tastings.
There are also a number of self-guided tours and make-your-own tours around Dallas. Maybe you’d like to go on a Dallas murals tour. Well, stay tuned. I’ve got the goods and I’ll be sharing soon.

For now, check out one of these fun not-just-for-tourists tours and #FindYourHappy in Big D.
